Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Pueblito Caribeño, the community within the VISTACANA residential complex in Punta Cana, pays homage to the tradition and culture of eight colonial Caribbean cities and is advancing by leaps and bounds. As a highlight, the iconic clock on La Habana Vieja Street, Cuba, has been inaugurated in this unique project.
Covering more than 3,000 square meters, Pueblito Caribeño captures the essence of colonial cities like Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Portobelo, Panama; Coro, Venezuela; Antigua, Antigua & Barbuda; Granada; Cartagena, Colombia; and Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, along with Havana, Cuba. It will feature Punta Cana’s first art district, a boutique hotel, and a central plaza with an educational center, art school, parish, and various service options, including restaurants, bars, shops, laundromats, and a playground, among others.
Alberto Vásquez, president of Grupo Paseo del Sendero, the conglomerate managing Pueblito Caribeño, described it as a new society with its own unique features and highlighted the dynamic impact of this development on the Punta Cana area and the country as a whole. The project currently generates over 300 direct jobs, involving engineers, architects, builders, and sales and marketing teams. “It will be a space for art, entertainment, and culture,” Vásquez emphasized at the clock’s inauguration event, which brought together more than 400 people.
Scheduled for completion in the first half of 2025, the project includes around 118 units. Due to its success in both domestic and international markets, a second phase is already planned, bringing the total to over 300 units.
